I wish Seattle would do its own Ring again. Bringing in individual operas using other companies’ productions is not the same.

The last time I saw the complete Ring, it was this production. I really miss the Seattle Opera Rings.

When she's in town, she sings in a church choir in Philly.... the choir members withdraw would stop singing just so we could hear her beautiful voice ❤❤❤. She's as lovely a person as she appears to be.

Saw this last night, it was phenomenal.

Just saw the live performance on Sunday and everyone was amazing - especially Diego Torre. Dare I say he performed this song better than Pavarotti or Bocelli? So much more emotion was heard and felt in Torre's performance - the type of emotion that sticks with you long after the performance.

Very nice voice but a bit too precious. That’s not a criticism of the singer but rather the industry and how it coaches singers to express - i.e. in a style that is excessively informed by an instrumentalist’s need for precision and less an actors need to express drama. Look a Giuseppi Taddei as an example of fuller integration of musical and textual imperatives. His is not the only way to sing this aria but it certainly doesn’t stumble on the account of excessive preciousness.

This makes me cry! Theater is a beautiful example of humans rising to new heights when working together.

I can't believe i found this. I had been longing to hear the recording after i sang with the PWA singers. It was such a moving moment and love the song.
